Russian CEC head observes parliamentary election in Azerbaijani districts
Vladimir Churov, the head of the Russian Central Election
Commission, is observing the parliamentary election in Azerbaijani
districts, the Russian embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend Nov. 1.
"Despite the adverse weather conditions and snow in Shamakhi
district of Azerbaijan, the voter turnout reached 13 percent at the
polling stations as of 10:00 (UTC/GMT +4 hours)," he said.
After leaving the Shamakhi district, Churov went to the Ismayilli
district of the country, where he will continue monitoring the
election.
The parliamentary election is being held in Azerbaijan Nov. 1.
Some 503 international observers from 40 organizations and over
66,000 local observers monitor the parliamentary election in
Azerbaijan.
Some 767 candidates claim for 125 seats in the Azerbaijani
parliament.
