Bad weather in Georgia not affects Azerbaijani tourists
Heavy rain and storm wind that struck Batumi on the night of August 26, didn’t create problems for Azerbaijani tourists who spend their holidays in this resort town of Georgia, Consul of Azerbaijan in Batumi Arzu Mikayilov told Trend.
He said so far the Azerbaijani Consulate General in Batumi received no appeals from fellow citizens affected by the bad weather.
Heavy rain, wind and storm led to a flooding of streets in the resort town of Batumi. Streets of the city, ground floors of buildings and the railway station were flooded, the Georgian media reported earlier.
The diplomat said that the city administration currently eliminates consequences of the bad weather, and dewatering work is being carried out.
He went on to add the flood caused damage to the Consulate General building as well.
