Ministry fights against illegal hunting

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has tightened measures against poaching in Azerbaijan.
As the latest measures, the Ministry's staff conducted some monitoring missions from October 16 to 31.
During the missions aimed to fight illegal hunting, some 197 records were compiled and 87 instructions were issued by the Ministry in various fields.
Earlier this month, two residents of Barda regions were detained because of illegal hunting.
The Ministry said that two hunting rifles and two cartridges were found in flagrante.
Each of the violators was fined 2,000 manats under the relevant article of the Code of Administrative Offences.
Another case of violation was recorded in Khodjavend and Bilasuvar regions of Azerbaijan, where one hunting rifle and two cartridges were caught in flagrante. Both of them were fined 1,000 manats.
The Ministry staff had no luck with the next violator. A resident of Masalli region managed to escape leaving behind his shotgun. However, the Ministry has asked the police department of the region to identify the poacher.
