U.S. congressman hails Azerbaijan’s economic development

U.S. Congressman from Texas, Henry Cuellar praised the economic development in Azerbaijan saying the country is one of the fastest growing economies in its region.
Cuellar made the remark during a roundtable discussion at the University of the Incarnate Word, the U.S. House of Representatives reported. Azerbaijan's Ambassador to the U.S., Elin Suleymanov also took part in the discussion.
Cuellar further said Azerbaijan is a strategic partner to the U.S., adding that there is vast opportunity to strengthen South Texas's relationship with Azerbaijan.
"I look forward to seeing the continued development of Azerbaijan and the strengthening of our bilateral relationship," he added.
The roundtable also featured students and professors of the University of the Incarnate Word. The participants discussed Azerbaijan's foreign policy, economic and security issues, as well as cooperation between Azerbaijan and the U.S.
Since Azerbaijan's emergence as an independent nation in 1991, the U.S.-Azerbaijan relationship has evolved into a strategic partnership based on mutual interests and common values.
At present, Azerbaijan-U.S. relations are developing rapidly.
