Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Brazil Elnur Sultanov has met President of the Brazilian Tourism Institute Embratur Vicente Neto to discuss prospects for tourism cooperation between the two countries.

The diplomat highlighted the history and culture of Azerbaijan, as well as the country's achievements in the field of tourism.

Sultanov noted that Azerbaijan was interested in cooperation with Brazil in tourism sector.

Neto, for his part, briefed Sultanov on his country's tourism policy, and noted that Brazilian Tourism Institute was keen on cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Sultanov also presented materials about Azerbaijani culture and tourism to the President of Embratur.

Tourism develops fast in Azerbaijan, as the country is keen on attracting more people to get acquainted with Azerbaijani history, culture and art.

Azerbaijan is expected to welcome 3.5-4 million tourists annually in the coming years.

There are currently 530 hotels, hotel-type facilities and some 241 travel agencies in the country. The price for a weeklong stay in the Azerbaijani regions stands at only 500 manats (over $630).

Several four and five-star hotels operate in the country's regions. Spending one night in a double room in a four star hotel costs 60-70 manats, which together with the cost of food will make 300-400 manats ($380-500) for a week.

Double room in a five-star hotel costs approximately 130-150 manats ($160-190) per night. Thus, a week vacation in Azerbaijan will cost at least 500 manats.
