Azerbaijan held a preliminary examination of the second railway bridge over the Kura River on July 15, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC reported.

Azerbaijan Railways Deputy Head Gurban Nazirov and the heads of the company's corresponding structures participated in the observation.

The second railway bridge over the Kura River is located on the 73rd kilometre of the Salahli-Poylu span.

The second railway bridge's construction was launched in 2008 and was finished in 2014. Its length is 208.44 meters.

The construction of the second railway bridge on the mentioned section over the Kura River was necessary to secure uninterrupted cargo transportations on the Baku-Boyuk Kesik railway route.
