Azerbaijan is going to start the production of sandwich panels used in the construction of fire-resistant houses in January 2015.

The news was announced by Suat Kıroğlu, Commercial Director of the Turkish Kingspan-İzopoli company, which cooperates with Azerbaijan's State Agency for Control over construction safety.

Kıroğlu said these prefabricated buildings are designed to be uses as emergency shelters, adding that the establishment of a joint venture for the production of these houses in Azerbaijan will cost 50 million manats.

Houses produced by this company will be exported to Central Asian countries like Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan in the future, he said.

"Azerbaijan will become a logistics center in the region in this regard," he emphasized.

Sandwich panel, a type of flat panel that consists of two thin aluminum sheets bonded to a non-aluminum core, are frequently used for external cladding or facades of buildings, insulation, and signage.

Aluminum sheets can be coated with polyvinylidene fluoride, fluoropolymer resins, or polyester paint. Aluminum can be painted in any kind of color, and the panels are produced in a wide range of metallic and non-metallic colors, as well as patterns that imitate other materials such as wood or marble.

Its core is commonly low density polyethylene, or a mix of low density polyethylene and mineral material to exhibit fire retardant properties.

This structure makes optimal use of these panels through its cost, durability, and efficiency.
