Azerbaijan, Brazil interested in customs co-op

Azerbaijani and Brazilian officials have discussed the development of cooperation in the field of customs between the two countries.

The remarks were made during the meeting of Azerbaijani Ambassador to Brasil, Elnur Sultanov and deputy secretary of Brazil's Federal Agency on Revenues, Customs Service Chief, Chekkukki Ernani on May 15.

The two sides exchanged views on the establishment of the legal framework and issues of mutual visits.

During the meeting, Sultanov briefed about Azerbaijan's achievements in all areas, as well as in the field of customs, noting the potential for development of cooperation between the two countries in this sphere he touched upon a number of specific initiatives.

Chekkukki, in turn, voiced Brazil's interest in customs cooperation with Azerbaijan.

He informed that he will visit Azerbaijan in near future, noting this visit would contribute to the expansion of bilateral ties.

Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Brazil were established in 1993. Brazilian Embassy in Azerbaijan was opened in June 2009. Azerbaijan's Embassy was established in Brazil in 2012.
