Azerbaijan's capital Baku hosted a business meeting of Azerbaijan and Montenegro.
During the meeting, Head of Azerbaijan Export & Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) Rufat Mammadov stressed the importance of such meetings in terms of expanding relations among businessmen.
Mammadov informed the participants about Azerbaijan's business and investment environment, as well as large-scale regional projects implemented in the country.
Supported by Azerbaijan's Economy and Industry Ministry, the business meeting was organized by AZPROMO.
Montenegro's Sustainable Development & Tourism Minister Branimir Gvozdenovic hailed the event and presented a report on the investment and business opportunities of Montenegrin tourism industry.
The event brought together businessmen from industry, agriculture, food industry, tourism and construction sectors.
The Montenegrin delegation also held talks with Economy and Industry Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
During the meeting the sides discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Mustafayev said the political, economic and humanitarian ties of Azerbaijan and Montenegro are at high level.
Gvozdenovic, in turn, said Montenegro is interested in the further development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Azerbaijan recognized Montenegro's independence in July, 2006, and diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in April, 2008.
Azerbaijani-Montenegrin cooperation started to develop faster recently. Earlier in January, 2014, the Civil Service Commission under the Azerbaijan President and the Montenegro Human Resources Management Authority signed an action plan on cooperation for 2014-2015.
About 1,500 tourists from Azerbaijan visited Montenegro last year. The trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $11,850 in 2013.
