Quake jolts Azerbaijan; aftershocks expected (UPDATE)

An earthquake measured 5.7 magnitude on the Richter scale has stricken Azerbaijan's Saatli region at 16:06 local time.
The Republican Seismological Service Center of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences reports that the earthquake occurred at the depth of 55km in the Hajigabul region.
The quake was followed by strong tremors across the country measured three to five magnitude on the Richter scale.
No causalities or damages have been reported.
Reports say there was another quake in the region. A quake hit the Caspian Sea at 16:18 local time. The 3.2-magnitude quake took place at depth of 62km in the sea.
Republican Seismological Service Center head Gurban Yetirmishli warned against minor tremors saying the tremors will not make serious problems.
For his part, the head of the Institute of Cybernetics of the National Academy of Sciences Telman Aliyev said, abnormal activities of earth are returning to normal conditions.
"We expected some earthquakes in Zakatala and Ismayilli regions. However, we could not say specifically where and how strong they will be. The processes are decaying," he said.
Based on global program of earthquake prediction reports, some earthquakes are also expected in Georgia, Iran and Turkmenistan.
