Azerbaijan’s top diplomat to attend Munich conference

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will attend the Munich Security Conference from January 31 to February 2, the Ministry reported.

The minister will hold a number of meetings with his colleagues during the conference.

The Munich Security Conference has held an annual conference in Munich (Germany) since 1962. It was called the Military Affairs Conference until 1993 and was held under the auspices of the Christian Social Union. It has been financed by the German government since 1998.

The discussion of the situation in hot spots and crisis zones is traditional for this forum.
Around 18 heads of states and governments, some 50 foreign ministers, as well as ten heads of international organizations have declared plans to participate at the 50th anniversary conference in Munich.

Around 300 politicians and experts on the issues of security policy from all over the world are expected to participate in the forum.
