The next meeting of the commission on the demarcation of borders between Russia and Azerbaijan will be held in Baku in 2014, special representative of the Russian President on demarcation and delimitation of state borders Igor Bratchikov told journalists in Baku on September 11.

According to Bratchikov, work on the demarcation is successfully carried out. Demarcation issues were earlier discussed with the Azerbaijani delegation in Moscow, he added.

Later on Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov said Azerbaijan and Russia have no disagreements on the issue of demarcation of the state border and voiced his hope that such disagreements will not arise in the future.

The two countries consider it important to establish the legal framework in this area. Such an agreement was reached by the parties during the recent first meeting of the bilateral commission on demarcation of the border between Azerbaijan and Russia.

The sides have agreed on the major part of the 284 kilometres-long Azerbaijani-Russian border, the head of the State Committee for Land and Cartography of Azerbaijan Garib Mammadov told reporters earlier.
