Co-op on national security in focus of Azerbaijan-Belarus talks
Azerbaijan and Belarus have discussed cooperation between their national security authorities as Azerbaijan`s National Security Minister Eldar Mahmudov met chairman of State Security Committee of Belarus Valery Vakulchik in Baku, AzerTag state news agency reported.
The sides explored prospects for cooperation in fighting against various forms of transnational organized crime like terrorism, extremism, illegal circulation of narcotics, as well as illegal migration.
Mr. Mahmudov highlighted measures taken in Azerbaijan to tackle security problems, and provided an insight into the history and consequences of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The chairman of Belarus State Security Committee stressed the importance of discussing the bilateral cooperation. Mr. Vakulchik also hailed relationship between national securities bodies of Belarus and Azerbaijan.
