The trial of the criminal case of Jalilabad residents Ibrahim Sadikhov, Azer Nazarov and Fariz Bayramov accused of high treason and terrorism finished at the Baku Graves Crimes Court on Friday.
They were recruited by Sepah (Revolutionary Guards) and tried to blow up the Israeli embassy in Azerbaijan.
The verdict was read at a closed door trial presided by Judge Enver Seyidov. According to the judgement, Nazarov was imprisoned for 12 years, while Sadikhov and Bayramov have been given 11 years.
Sadikhov, Nazarov and Bayramov were detained as a result of special investigative operations undertaken in April, 2012 by employees of the National Security Ministry.
The terrorist attack was prevented as a result of operational measures taken in anticipation of the Eurovision-2012 song contest in Baku.
