Seismic stations to be installed in Caspian Sea this fall
The seismic stations, to be installed in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea for the first time in the CIS, are planned to be constructed by autumn.
Representatives of the US company Kinemetrics Mathias Franke and Edelvays Spassov are in Azerbaijan in connection with the design work of marine bottom seismic stations to be installed near Bahar, Umid and Guneshli fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, the Republican Center of Seismic Service of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences told Trend news agency on Thursday.
The company representatives met with director general of the national center, doctor of geological-mineralogical sciences Gurban Yetirmishli.
The initial work on the installation is planned to be conducted around Bahar field.
Three bottom marine seismic stations will be commissioned. Their number will be increased to 10 in the future.
