Ambassador: Heydar Aliyev played important role in development of Iranian-Azerbaijani ties
National leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev played an important
role in the development and strengthening of the
Iranian-Azerbaijani relations, Ambassador of Iran to Azerbaijan
Mohsen Pak Ayin told Trend news agency.
The ambassador said that Heydar Aliyev became the first President
of Azerbaijan that supported the positive development of relations
between the two countries and prevented the attempts of those who
were against any such relations.
"This year, Azerbaijan celebrates the 90th anniversary of the
national leader Heydar Aliyev. In order to express gratitude to
Heydar Aliyev, as well as to familiarize the Iranian people with
the statements and views of this great person, I decided to post
articles entitled 'Heydar Aliyev and his friendly attitude towards
Iran' on my blog," he said.
It should be noted that Pak Ayin's articles about Heydar Aliyev are
published on the website of the Embassy and the Iranian press.
According to him, Heydar Aliyev spoke of the need for continuous
development of relations with Iran.
"Prior to my appointment to Azerbaijan, I studied Heydar Aliyev's
work and knew that he was the architect of Azerbaijan's foreign
policy," the ambassador said.
According to him, two articles in Azerbaijani and Persian languages
have already been published on the website of the Embassy and his
personal blog, and caused great resonance in the Iranian media.
"The articles will be published every week. They will feature the
views of Heydar Aliyev in the development of Azerbaijani-Iranian
relations at the regional and international level, reflect his
viewpoint on the development of relations between the two countries
during his life in Nakhchivan, describe the assistance provided by
Iran to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, give the opinions of a
great leader on how to develop relations in various spheres between
Azerbaijan and Iran, including in the area of transit, trade and
energy, as well as tips given by the national leader to the media
of both countries to develop bilateral ties. The articles will also
include criticism of nationalist forces that are against the
development of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran," the
ambassador said.
The book of the same name will be published and distributed in Iran
to save these articles as a historical document, Pak Ayin said.
"The views, ideas and thoughts of Heydar Aliyev may serve as a
criterion for the development of the doctrine of relations between
Azerbaijan and Iran," the ambassador added.
Pak Ayin noted that Heydar Aliyev's judgments set an example for
politicians of the two countries and may affect the strengthening
of bilateral relations.
