Qafqaz University execs review Turkish technoparks

A delegation of Qafqaz University, a private university based in Azerbaijan's capital Baku, is on a visit to Turkey to familiarize itself with the technopark of Istanbul Technical University (ITU) -- ARI Teknokent.
The delegation includes Qafqaz University Rector Ahmet Sanich, Vice-Rector on Administrative Affairs Shahin Durmaz, Chairman of the Technopark Isa Gasimov, Director of Azer.Net LLC Anar Novruzov, Executive Director of SENTRA LLC Umud Valiyev, and Sales Manager of MONtech LLC Fadai Abdullayev.
The delegation has met with ITU Rector Ahmet Karaja and conducted experiments at the technopark with the participation of ARI Teknokent General Director Nazire Peker.
The delegation members were informed about the operations of the companies, their interests and their roles in the scientific research work carried out at the technopark, as well as the efficiency of the achieved results.
The Turkish side said that ARI Teknokent, which prepares engineering specialists, has an irreplaceable role in the development of the country. ARI Teknokent, with an extensive logistics, is the largest one among the 40 technoparks in Turkey.
Participation of the university's faculty members and students of various higher education degrees in the activity of the technopark as well as innovative results gained at the technopark play an important role in the development of the Turkish industry.
During the visit, the delegation also met with the Middle East Technical University (METU) principal, Ahmet Ajar.
Ahmet Sanich said at the meeting that the technopark of Qafqaz University uses METU's practice in its activity. He also expressed interest in further cooperation in various fields of higher education.
Ajar, for his part, expressed satisfaction with the existing cooperation between the universities and spoke about the efficiency of cooperation in the field of information technologies.
Then the Qafqaz University delegation's visit was continued at the METU technopark.
The main aim of the visit was familiarization with the activity of the Turkish technoparks in order to accelerate the development of the technopark at Qafqaz University.
Qafqaz University was founded in 1993. The education system and programs of Turkish and Western universities are taken as a model in preparing the curriculums. The main goal of the university is to provide students with higher education that meets international standards and play an active role in fostering excellence, cooperation, and interaction with international academic milieu.
