Baku authorities decline permission for opposition protest

The Baku Executive Power has responded to the appeal of the so-called Azerbaijani umbrella opposition group Public Chamber to hold a rally in front of the parliament building on Friday, November 2, deputy head of Musavat Party, secretary of the Public Chamber Gulaga Aslanli told Trend news agency.

The Baku Executive Power said it inadvisable to hold a picket in front of the parliament building, Aslanli noted.

The opposition group, established in late 2010 by main opposition parties and political figures, has held several unsanctioned protests so far.
