Online TV broadcasters may need license: Azeri minister
Online television broadcasting in Azerbaijan may require licensing in the future, the communications minister told reporters on Monday.
Ali Abbasov said that at present, over 20 TV channels are broadcasting over the Internet.
"At present, a license is not required for TV channels to broadcast on the Internet, and they operate freely," he said. "We think this is just the beginning and they must master this technology and develop it. However, it may become necessary for the National Television and Radio Council to consider issuing a license for Internet TV."
