Ecuador backs Azerbaijan on Karabakh conflict
Azerbaijan can rely on Ecuador's support in cooperation within international organizations and, particularly, resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh, Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino Aroca said on a visit to Baku Wednesday.
Aroca said at a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov that Ecuador stands for the conflict resolution in accord with international norms and supports Azerbaijan's fair position on this issue.
About 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory, including Nagorno Karabakh, has been under the occupation of Armenian armed forces since a ceasefire was signed in 1994 following a brutal war.
