Azeri president awards Lukoil head for boosting Russia ties
BAKU – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has conferred an award to the president of Russian oil major Lukoil, Vagit Alekperov, for his merits in developing relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.
The Sharaf (Honor) Order is conferred according to President Aliyev’s decree, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
Alekperov has presided Lukoil since its inception in 1993 and is one of the company’s shareholders.
