Following the tragic crash of an "Embraer 190" passenger plane operated by "Azerbaijan Airlines" (AZAL) on its Baku-Grozny route on December 25, a national day of mourning was declared in Azerbaijan on December 26, Azernews reports.
As a result, the national flag was flown at half-mast at the country's embassy in the Kingdom of Morocco.
The embassy reports that notes have been sent to Moroccan state authorities and diplomatic missions in Rabat, announcing that a condolence book would be opened at the embassy on December 26 and 27 in connection with the day of mourning.
Heads of diplomatic missions and diplomats accredited in Morocco visited the Azerbaijani embassy to offer their condolences and write heartfelt messages in the condolence book.
