Iran's President Pezeshkian offers condolences to President Ilham Aliyev
On December 26, Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, made a phone call to Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azernews reports.
Regarding the plane crash, the President of Iran expressed his condolences to the President of Azerbaijan and the families of the victims, wishing a swift recovery to the injured.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the attention and condolences.
The AZAL passenger plane, which was operating a Baku-Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau. Of the 67 people on board, 38 lost their lives, while 29 survived.
In response to the numerous casualties, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree declaring a national day of mourning.
A State Commission, led by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, has also been established to investigate the causes of the crash, under the direction of the president.
