Azerbaijan plans new national park in liberated territories
A map of the Araz State Nature Reserve is considered to be prepared and sent to the relevant state agencies for review.
Azernews reports, citing Azertag that Firuddin Aliyev, head of the Biological Diversity Protection Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, said this at a meeting of the working group on environmental issues held in the city of Khankendi.
"In addition, the creation of a new national park with a total area of 92,656.2 hectares, covering part of the administrative territories of the liberated Shusha, Khojaly, Aghdara and Kalbajar regions, is being considered, and in this regard, work has begun on reviewing and evaluating the territories with relevant state agencies. A preliminary map of the new national park covering the mentioned territories has been prepared, and it has been sent to the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture for comments, taking into account the location of settlements," he added.
