Azerbaijan demonstrates its literature at Ankara Book Fair [PHOTOS]
Azerbaijan has been honored as the guest of honor at the 21st Ankara International Book Fair held in Turkiye, Azernews reports.
Representatives from the Turkish state and government, as well as the education and cultural sectors, participated in the event, including Turkiye's Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Batuhan Mumcu, head of the organizing committee of the 21st Ankara Book Fair and Eylul Fuarcılık organization Remzi Çayır.
The Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkiye Rashad Mammadov praised the organization of the fair and thanked the organizing committee for selecting Azerbaijan as the guest of honour for the international book fair in Ankara.
Honorary guests of the fair, Turkish scholar Kamal Sayar and the head of the Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan, Academician Nizami Jafarov, spoke about the importance of books and reading, as well as the literary and cultural ties between the brotherly countries.
Guests were treated to dance and musical performances organized
by the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Ankara.
The national stand was organized by the Azerbaijani Cultural Center
in Turkiye with the support of the Azerbaijan Culture Ministry.
Visitors to the stand were introduced to publications on the history, statehood, culture, and literature of Azerbaijan, published by leading Azerbaijani publishing houses.
The fair, which runs until December 8, will feature numerous events as part of Azerbaijan's participation, including presentations of works by Nizami Ganjavi and Muhammad Fuzuli, published in Turkish as part of a project by the Azerbaijani Cultural Center and with the support of the Сulture Ministry.
More than 500,000 visitors have attended the 21st Ankara Book Fair.
The fair offers a diverse range of activities, including lectures, presentations, and autograph sessions with various authors.
Recall that the 20th Ankara Book Fair lasted for ten days. Around 350 different stands were set up at the book fair, bringing together more than a thousand publishing houses from across Turkiye.
