Azerbaijan establishes renewable energy partnership program with IRENA
Azerbaijan's Energy Ministry together with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has established a program called Accelerated Renewable Energy Partnership in Central Asia (APRECA).
Azernews reports that the program was presented at the Investment Forum on Energy Transition in Central Asia organized within COP29.
In addition to Azerbaijan, ministers and deputy ministers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates participated in the forum. They discussed ways to increase the use of green energy to meet the growing energy demand in Central Asian countries, ensure the diversity of energy sources, support economic growth, and achieve climate goals.
It was noted that the APRECA program mobilizes the potential of Central Asian countries and aims to expand investments, strengthen interregional relations, and increase socio-economic benefits within the framework of regional cooperation.
