President Ilham Aliyev meets with President of Islamic Development Bank [PHOTOS/VIDEO]
On November 14, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, met with Muhammad Al Jasser, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Azernews reports.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev Aliyev and IsDB Chairman Muhammad Al Jasser attended the signing ceremony for the Agency Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Islamic Development Bank on “Construction of the Main Irrigation Canal from the Maiden Tower Reservoir” Project, and Reverse Linkage Technical Assistance Grant Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Islamic Development Bank on “Construction of the Main Irrigation Canal from the Maiden Tower Reservoir” Project, and Framework Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Islamic Development Bank on “Construction of the Main Irrigation Canal from the Maiden Tower Reservoir” project.
During the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and IsDB in terms of future directions and activities, expressing hope that these ties will deepen in the future.
The head of state also noted that the signed agreements mark the first step in securing international financial support for the projects in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
Muhammad Al Jasser commended the successful organization of COP29 within a short timeframe and recalled his visit to Azerbaijan’s liberated territories in 2023. He praised the efficient and high-quality execution of large-scale projects in those regions. Al Jasser reiterated the IsDB’s readiness to support and expand its involvement in both public and private sector projects in Azerbaijan.
