Participants of Global Summit of Religious Leaders begin their visit to Garabagh
The participants of the Global Summit of Religious Leaders have begun their visit to Garabagh, Azernews reports.
The guests were welcomed at Fuzuli International Airport by Eldar Seyidov, the deputy to the special representative of the President of Azerbaijan for the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend regions, under the leadership of Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, the head of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO).
During the visit, the religious and government representatives will tour Fuzuli, Aghdam, Khojali, Askeran, Khankendi, and Shusha, where they will examine the destruction of historical monuments and sites that were subjected to Armenian vandalism during the occupation. They will also visit mosques and religious sites, and be briefed on the ongoing restoration and reconstruction efforts in the liberated areas.
It has been reported that Ali Erbaş, the head of Turkey's Directorate of Religious Affairs, is expected to give the call to prayer (adhan) at the Aghdam mosque, and the visitors will participate in the first congregational prayer there since the completion of the mosque’s restoration.
