A meeting was held in Copenhagen with Azerbaijanis living in Denmark, Azernews reports, citing the State Committee for Work with Diaspora.

It was noted that the meeting began with the singing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan and the commemoration of the cherished memory of those sons of the homeland who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country.

Safar Sadiqov, the chairman of the Denmark-Azerbaijan "Vətən" Society, provided detailed information about the activities of the Azerbaijani community in Denmark and the "Vətən" Society he leads, presenting a video about the work done.

Fuad Muradov, the chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, spoke about the country's diaspora policy, emphasizing that every Azerbaijani living abroad is under the attention of our state. A comprehensive presentation was made on the committee's activities, Azerbaijani Houses abroad, Coordination Councils, weekend schools, and numerous ongoing projects.

Asgar Naghiyev, the first secretary of Azerbaijan's embassy in Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark, highlighted the importance of the community meeting in networking the diaspora and intensifying ties with Azerbaijan.

Professor Dr. Masoud Ashina, a neurologist at the University of Copenhagen, head of the International Headache Society, and director of the Human Migraine Research Association, drew attention to the role of our compatriots in Denmark in shaping Azerbaijan's image in the international arena and defending its interests. Özgür Kafadar, the secretary general of Turkey's embassy in Denmark, also participated in the meeting.

Community members highly valued the holding of such a large-scale meeting for the first time in Denmark and the exchange of ideas in various areas, expressing their intention to continue contributing to diaspora policy. At the end, a meeting of the Scandinavian Azerbaijani Coordination Council was held, where Masoud Ashina was elected coordinator for Denmark.

The community meeting was moderated by Amid Huseynov, the deputy chairman of the Denmark-Azerbaijan Vətən Society, and Leyla Qasımova, a member of the society.

It is noteworthy that in accordance with President Ilham Aliyev's policy of constant attention and care for Azerbaijani communities and compatriots abroad, the State Committee for Work with Diaspora systematically organizes meetings with Azerbaijanis living in various countries, listens to the proposals and problems of our compatriots, and takes necessary steps towards the creation of a unified network of world Azerbaijanis.
