COP29 volunteers organize environmental action in Icherisheher
COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company organized an environmental action under the slogan "Reuse for our little friends," aiming to encourage collective participation and responsibility in environmental protection, Azernews reports citing the event took place in Icherisheher in partnership with the "Icherisheher" State Historical-Architectural Reserve.
As part of the campaign, COP29 volunteers gathered to create functional bird nests from pre-collected waste materials. They captured the public's interest with practical demonstrations on crafting various types of bird nests using different waste materials. Additionally, they shared intriguing facts about the benefits of waste reduction through recycling. The bird nests were subsequently installed in the park area of Icherisheher, catering to the food and water needs of birds and small animals.
Further nests are scheduled for installation in the Castle Reserve.
This initiative, driven by COP29 volunteers who combined theoretical knowledge with practical activities, aims to underscore the link between waste management—an important climate issue—and the protection of the environment, flora, and fauna. It seeks to raise public awareness about adopting environmentally sustainable practices like responsible waste management in everyday life. Moreover, it emphasizes the crucial role of collective efforts in achieving these goals once more.
