Azerbaijan, Turkiye & Northern Cyprus to attend joint TV broadcasts in support of quake victims
On the evening of February 15, television and radio channels from Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Northern Cyprus will jointly broadcast as part of a telethon to help victims of the earthquake in Turkey, Azernews reports.
This was stated by President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The start time for the campaign is 0800 p.m. (GMT+4). The Turkish Red Crescent Society and the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) will receive donations to their respective accounts.
A 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit Turkiye's southeastern part on February 6, 2023, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
At the moment of writing, the overall death toll in Turkiye has risen to 35,418.
Azerbaijan was the first country to provide assistance to Turkiye immediately after the earthquake.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations continues to send humanitarian aid and rescuers to Turkiye.
