Car accident claims eight lives in western Azerbaijan
Eight people were killed and thirteen others injured after a
passenger bus collided with a van in Azerbaijan’s western Tovuz
district on Wednesday morning.
Three of those who died in the accident are Turkish citizens who are family members. Two of them are men aged between 35 and 45, and the other is a five year-old boy. Two more members of the Turkish family – a 35-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy - are among those injured. The remaining five victims – three men and two women - are Azerbaijanis.
Three of the injured are in critical condition, according to the Health Ministry.
According to preliminary conclusions, the accident was caused by one of the driver’s being drowsy.*
