Azerbaijani First Deputy Defence Minister Col-Gen Karim Valiyev has inspected training sessions at one of the Air Force units, the ministry reported on January 18.
Under Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov’s instructions, Valiyev attended a training session with air defence chiefs and anti-aircraft missile division’s commanders, the report added.
Valiyev instructed the personnel to improve professional skills and maintain a high level of combat readiness, to ensure reliable defence of Azerbaijani airspace, as well as to organize and implement combat duties in a professional manner.
Valiyev inquired about the personnel's needs and conveyed the defence minister’s instructions to the relevant military officials.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan periodically holds drills and training sessions to improve its military personnel’s combat readiness.
The drills also aim to improve interaction and combat coordination between the servicemen during operations, as well as to develop commanders' military decision-making and unit management skills.
