By Trend

Azerbaijan is playing a special role in the region in trade and intercultural relations, said Abdul Aziz Abu Hamad Aluwaisheg, Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Negotiations at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

He made the remarks at the session “Baku Process – Advancing Intercultural Dialogue for Human Security, Peace and Sustainable Development: 10 Years Lessons and Perspectives”, held as part of the 6th Baku International Humanitarian Forum on Oct. 26.

He said that most of the conflicts in the world, including conflicts in the Arab world, arise from the erroneous ideas of people.

He expressed hope that intercultural dialogue projects in Central Asia and the Caucasus will be implemented in the future as well, and stressed that the private sector can also contribute to establishment of the dialogue.

Held under the slogan “Shaping a New World and a New Humanity: Creativity and Human Development”, the 6th Baku International Humanitarian Forum that kicked off Oct. 25 brings together 581 delegates from 86 countries and 24 international organizations.
