119 illegal migrants detained in Azerbaijan

Over the past four days, 119 immigrants were detained by the State Migration Service (SMS) during the measures against illegal migration.
Migration Service says that 13 persons did not reside at the place of registtration, six were engaged in work that was not compatible with the stated purpose of the visit, and another person was engaged in illegal labor activity.
Moreover, one person was earlier deported from the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan and travel ban was imposed on him. Later his documents were changed and he again entered Azerbaijan. The remaining 98 foreign citizens lived illegally in the country.
In this regard, administrative decisions were taken about 85 of the detained foreigners and measures are underway for expulsion of the remaining detained foreigners from the territory of the country.
State Migration Service continues fight against illegal migration.
For the first half of 2018, 347,767 foreigners and stateless persons were registered upon place of residence in the Sate Migration Service and this is 10 percent more compared to last year.
Throughout this period, the Service took measures on illegal migration; the relevant decisions were made approximately 9,603 foreigners and stateless persons, as well as citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who violated the requirements of migration legislation.
