ADA University hosted World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers’ Summit

The 6th Annual Summit of Global Shapers of the World Economic Forum (Davos Forum) was held in ADA University this weekend hosted by Sumgait Hub.

SHAPE Eurasia 2018 is aimed at connecting Shapers to exchange expertise, enhance collaboration and capacity for creating positive impact on a regional scale. Similar events were also held in Sao Paulo, Johannesburg, Bangkok, Sacramento and Belfast.

More than 100 representatives from 24 countries came together constituting 33 percent of Global GDP to hold a discussion under the theme of ‘Regional Transformation: Unleashing Human Capital’, where debates revolved around solutions on how Education, Entrepreneurship, Technology and Gender Equality could be leveraged to shape future human capital development in the region.

Vice-Rector of ADA University, Fariz Ismailzade, has welcomed the participants and gave a short speech about the institution’s commitment to breeding innovative global leaders. He also contributed to the discussion on the first panel on educational reforms. Curator of Sumgait Hub, Amir Guluzade, thanked ADA University and leading members of Organizational Committee of Sumgait Hub Nazrin Mahmudova, Maksud Tuayev and Gulay Mammadova for providing absolute support to host the Summit. He also thanked Sapphire Hotels Group for an in-kind accommodation of the foreign participants.

Laura Inamedinova, founder of LKI crypto-consulting company, James da Costa, co-founder of Mandala Group and Yori Kamphuis, co-founder and CBDO of Storro BV, as well as many others, were amongst international speakers across the panels.

BAKU EXPO 2025 Taskforce, represented by Rena Abdullayeva, has also shared their views on Human Capital Development.

The Global Shapers Community is an initiative of the World Economic Forum, established by professor Klaus Schwab in 2011 connecting over 7,000 in 400 hubs across the globe. Last September, Professor and Curator of Sumgait hub had a chance to discuss regional trends, as well as potential of youth to invoke positive impact on economic development though application of high-tech.

Progressive youth is well positioned to take action in the prevailing environment of rapid changes and technological advancements, shaping a more effective model to ensure efficient human capital development.
