New Baku-Guba-Russian border highway to be toll road

The new Baku-Guba-Russian border highway will be a toll road, Saleh Mammadov, chairman of the Azerbaijan State Agency of Highways, said Feb. 22.
He stressed that the main task for 2018 is the construction of new Baku-Guba-Russian border road.
"It covers a 208-kilometer-section starting from M.Z. Taghiyev settlement,” he said. “The four-lane road of the first category in the future will be the first toll road."
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an order Feb. 19 on measures to build the new Baku-Guba-Russian border road.
According to the order, the Azerbaijan State Agency of Highways will allocate 150 million manats from the 2018 state budget.
