Days-off for June holidays announced

By Laman Ismayilova

Azerbaijan’s Labor and Social Protection Ministry approved the industry calendar for May and June 2017.

The ministry announced that upcoming non-working days are the following: May 28 – Republic Day, June 15 – National Salvation Day, June 26 – Day of Armed Forces, June 26, 27 – Ramadan Holiday (Eid-al-Fitr).

Based on Article 105 of the Labor Code, if public holidays fall on weekends, the day-off is moved to the next working day immediately after the holiday.

As the weekends coincide with non-working days and one day of Ramadan Holiday coincides with the Day of Armed Forces, May 29 and June 28 in the five-day working week and May 29 in six-day week will be considered as non-working days, according to the legislation.
