Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population plans to implement two more twinning projects together with the European Union (EU).
Minister Salim Muslumov announced about this at a meeting
dedicated to the completion of the twinning project "Development of
the system of social services in Azerbaijan".
The minister said that Azerbaijan is ready to continue cooperation
with the EU in the future.
"Today we have completed a twinning project on the development of social services, but I note that this is not the first and not our last joint project with the EU. In the future we plan to implement two more projects, one of which will be for the development of the pension system and other one in the sphere of employment system development," Muslimov said.
The twinning project "Development of the system of social services in Azerbaijan" was implemented jointly with the relevant structure of Austria. The aim of the project was to improve the social services system for the most vulnerable segments of the population and ensure their social integration.
Earlier in April, Head of the EU Delegation to Baku Malena Mard said that Azerbaijan and the EU will start implementation of seven more twinning projects in the near future.
This year Azerbaijan and the EU celebrated the 10th anniversary of twinning in Azerbaijan. Since 2007 to November 2016, the EU has successfully implemented 48 twinning projects in Azerbaijan.
