Presentation of the M-346 jet trainer, manufactured by Italy’s Leonardo Aircraft Division, took place in one of airbases of Azerbaijan’s Air Force.

The leadership of the Defense Ministry inspected the aircraft, after which a comprehensive briefing was given on the aircraft’s specifications, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry reported on May 10.

M-346 is one of the most advanced trainer aircrafts available on the market today. Moreover, it is the only one new generation aircraft specifically designed to prepare pilots for high performance.

The aircraft entered service in 2013 in both the Italian and Singaporean Air Forces. It is also in service in Israel since 2014. Poland has also signed a contract for the aircraft in February 2014.

The Embedded Tactical Training Simulation (ETTS) allows the M-346 to emulate sensors, countermeasures and armament, as well as allowing pilots to interact in real time with a virtual tactical scenario.

In general, the Azerbaijani Army, consisting of Air Force and Air Defense Forces, the Navy, and the Land Forces, is today considered the most modern army in the Caucasus. The Azerbaijani Army is the leading army in the region.

The skills and combat readiness of the Azerbaijani Army are growing year by year, as the country’s Armed Forces regularly conduct military exercises. The army building process in Azerbaijan is progressing as well.
