Water level ups in Kura River

Water richness holds 100-160% of decade norm in Quba-Khachmaz region rivers of Major Caucasus, 170-180% in Minor Caucasus rivers, 50-100% in Lankaran-Astara region rivers.

Some 3cm increase in water level was recorded in Giragkesemen settlement of Kura river on February 17, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources reported.

Currently water consumption holds 135m3/sec in the settlement, i.e 79% of decade norm (in 2016, 157m3/sec, i.e 92% of decade norm.

No change in water level has been observed in Ayrichay settlement of Qanikh River. The water consumption holds 59m3/sec, i.e 84% of decade norm. (in 2016, 79m3/sec, i.e 112% of decade norm).

At present, no change in water level has been observed in the downstream of Kura River. In this regard, 4cm decrease in Surra and Shirvan, 5 cm in Novruzlu settlement of Aras, 10 cm in Banka while 7 cm increase in Salyan.At present, water level holds 475cm (on February 17, 2016, 419cm) in Surra settlement, 353 (on February 17, 2016, 305cm) in Shirvan, 336cm (on February 17, 2016, 250cm) in Salyan, 259cm (on February 17, 2016, 205cm) in Banka, while 195cm (on February 17, 2016, 151cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
