President Aliyev offers condolences to Kyrgyz counterpart
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has offered condolences to his Kyrgyz counterpart Almazbek Atambayev over the casualties after a plane crashed near Bishkek.
The message reads:
“Dear Almazbek Sharshenovich,
I was deeply saddened by the news of tragic death of the people as a result of plane crash near Bishkek.
On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on my own behalf, I extend my deepest condolences to You, the bereaved families, loved ones of those who died and wish the injured the swiftest possible recovery.”
At least 32 people, including six children, were killed when a cargo plane crashed near Kyrgyzstan's capital, Bishkek on January 16.
The aircraft on a flight from Hong-Kong to Bishkek crashed during a landing approach due to bad weather conditions at 7:31 local time (01:31 GMT), Kyrgyzstan Deputy Prime Minister Muhambetkaliy Abulkaziyev announced Monday, Anadolu Agency reports.
