Career or family, which one?
By Amina Nazarli
Which one we need to choose first: Our career or family?
This is the question every woman faces with in her lifetime.
Well, maybe not always emphatically, but as a rule, every woman at a certain stage of her life should decide which one is more important? Gaining financial independence or involving in housework, children and building a cozy "family nest."
Sometimes, bread-winners are unable to fully provide their families. This along with other reasons, force many women to torn between family and career.
However, Aygun Aliyeva, who is pleased with her successes at home and work suggests that one of the main mistakes that many women, as well as men do is bringing business conflicts and problems to home and family problems to work.
“It is necessary to be able to switch easily. You should not turn your own home into a branch of your office. The same is true about work. Stop thinking about family problems at work,” she said.
The ability to switch between these two realms allows you to relax at home and catch homesick while being at work, she believes.
Time is running fast, and every era dictates its own conditions. If at the beginning of the last century, the family was the only women's "work", for the modern woman, just to be a mother is no longer enough. For some of them a full life without an interesting profession is impossible.
Nowadays, women increasingly pay more attention to their social status, and make every effort to achieve success in their work.
Some successful careerists say that they are able to combine their family and work. You will ask how. A woman, succeeding in a career earns enough money to ensure her children’s nurturing and nanny care.
Supporters of this idea believe that there are many difficult aspects to this balance, but then there are many difficult aspects to any path we take in life.
But all of it will be enough complicated without support of the husband and other relatives. That’s why their support is part of an effort to combine their career and motherhood, as well as active assistance after the child birth may help women deal with this issue easily.
In Azerbaijan, women constitute 52 percent of the population. Women employment in the country stands at 49.5 percent.
Women are mostly working in the fields of services, education
and medicine.
Some 28 percent of the civil servants in Azerbaijan are the weaker
sex, according to the UN report on gender equality. Moreover, the
number of women entrepreneurs in the country stands at 73,470. It
makes 17 percent of all the country’s entrepreneurs.
However, this is not the case all the time. It’s great that working moms today can make a balance between their career and family, but some worry that most business moms are unique cases. Psychologists say that in many cases, women close to forty years begin to regret that they opted for a career.
In many cases when a woman strives to succeed in her career, her family life would be affected most.
Each career takes a lot of time and efforts. As a result, women are not able to give their child maternal affection and warmth. This in turn will hamper the development of their child.
Since ancient times, the main duties of women have been protecting their families.
Very often, women are afraid of losing control of the situation, trying to keep up everywhere.
Combining work, parenting and homemaking would undermine one’s health. So, it is necessary to unload and redistribute our responsibilities among other family members. Otherwise, such loads can affect negatively our health.
