Armenia sends resumed package of peace proposals to Azerbaijan
Armenia has sent its next and final package of proposals to Azerbaijan to reach a comprehensive peace agreement, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan, Azernews reports via Russian Media.
"We have sent the last package of proposals, we are waiting for a response from the Azerbaijani side," Hovhannisyan told journalists in parliament, underscoring the current state of negotiations.
Previously, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated that only "one or two points" remain to be agreed upon before an agreement can be signed with Azerbaijan. He expressed hope that both sides would soon reach a consensus on these outstanding issues.
Armenia previously submitted a set of proposals to Azerbaijan concerning the draft peace treaty in late August.
According to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, this version (in August) of the peace treaty contained 17 articles, of which 13 have been agreed upon, including the preamble.
