Armenian FM: Genocide recognition not top priority in foreign policy
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has clarified that the international recognition of the so-called Armenian Genocide is not the primary focus of Armenia's foreign policy agenda, Azernews reports, citing Armenian media.
Speaking at the National Assembly, Mirzoyan addressed the Ministry’s priorities.
"Studying the Armenian Genocide or making it the number one priority is certainly not a priority on the Foreign Ministry's agenda," he stated.
Mirzoyan emphasized that the foremost aim of the Armenian Foreign Ministry is to ensure peace and stability surrounding Armenia. "The number one step and direction that we are considering is the process of normalizing relations with Azerbaijan," he added.
