A drone of the Armenian armed forces was seized on December 29, Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry reported.

The ministry said the drone was lowered to the ground using a special method as it attempted to fly over the positions of the Azerbaijani army.

In early December, the Azerbaijan army destroyed other two Armenian drones in the line of contact between the Azerbaijani and Armenian troops in Azerbaijan’s Talish village and in Fuzuli region.

Last month, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces destroyed also two drones of Armenia – one in Fuzuli region, and the second on the line of contact in the direction of Azerbaijan’s Tartar region. All the UAVs were doing reconnaissance flights over the positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

Armenia broke out a lengthy war against Azerbaijan laying territorial claims on its South Caucasus neighbor. Since a war in the early 1990s, Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan's territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions. More than 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed and over 1 million were displaced as a result of the large-scale hostilities.

Armenia has not yet implemented four UN Security Council resolutions on withdrawal of its armed forces from the Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding districts.
