Baku International Book Fair opens

The IV Baku International Book Fair organized by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism commenced in the Baku Sport Palace on September 16.
The three-day fair will end on September 18.
The event was attended by the Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister, national writer Elchin Efendiyev, Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova, and the chairman of Azerbaijan Writers Union People's writer Anar, as well as prominent public figures, famous figures of science, culture and art, representatives of diplomatic missions, and other book enthusiasts.
At the opening ceremony, Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev said that the Baku International Book Fair has received a warm welcome from the public.
"Every year, the number and the geographical scale of the fair participants only increase. This year, the fair was attended by representatives from 30 countries and 120 publishers. The organization of the event is important in terms of establishing and strengthening relations with foreign partners in the publishing information about ancient history, rich culture, the rapid development of Azerbaijan," Garayev said.
The exhibition will feature presentations of various book editions, the ceremony of signing the protocol on cooperation between the Azerbaijan National Library and libraries of other countries, meetings with writers, and a presentation on the Electronic Centralized Library System.
The participants were shown exhibits presented by local and foreign publishing houses, printing agencies, and other relevant bodies.
The IV Baku International Book Fair is being attended by participants from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Uzbekistan, Iran, Egypt, Nigeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Albania, Slovakia, Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, and Greece.
