"Aida" opera staged in Baku

The Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater staged “Aida” opera by Giuseppe Verdi, on February 28.
The opera took place with participation of the opera stars of
Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine.
The part of Aida was sounded by Victoria Chenskaya, Ukranian
Honored Artist. She is a winner of numerous international
competitions. Victoria has been on tours in Germany, Hungary,
Scotland, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Thailand and other
countries.
People's Artist of Georgia, State Prize winner, laureate of
international contest of vocalists, prof. Teimuraz Gugushvili has
performed the part of Radames. Dmitri Grishin, the Honored Artist
of Ukraine was invited to perform Amonasro part.
One of the leading roles in opera, Amneris, was played by Fidan
Hajiyeva, Azerbaijan's Honored Artist.
The soloists also included Azerbaijani People's Artist Ali Asgarov
(bass), Honored Artists Gulnaz Ismayilova, Akram Poladov and
others.
The conductor of the opera was David Kintsurashvili, art director
of the Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Tbilisi.
The performance was warmly welcomed and cheered by audience.
