Latvian singer to shoot clip for Azeri folk song
Anmari, Latvian representative at the Eurovision-2012 song contest, which was held in Baku, has arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in International Folklore Festival in the southern town of Masalli on September 7-10.
Anmari expressed her satisfaction with arriving in Azerbaijan again. The singer also said she included Azerbaijani songs in her repertoire after this year's Eurovision song contest. Anmari said she was fond of Azerbaijani music, adding that she has sung such songs as "Sari Gelin", "Uzuyumun gashi firuzedendir", "Sen gelmez oldun", and "Gel, ey seher".
"There is no need to speak about my love for your country and culture," Anmari says. "I witnessed the grandiosity of culture, history and people of your country in May. I'm happy to be back in this country again...I visited several regions including Gabala in May and admired its nature. When I arrived in Azerbaijan for the first time I sang Azerbaijani "Sari Gelin" folk song and I want to produce a clip for this grandiose music."
Anmari will produce the "Sari Gelin" clip in Azerbaijan. The Latvian singer said that she intends to include the other songs in her repertoire as well.
Anmari arrived in Baku on Tuesday. The singer will go to Masalli
Thursday to participate in the folklore festival. Bands from
Russia, Turkey, Iran, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Latvia
will perform at the event.
The Latvian singer has repeatedly sung "Sari Gelin" in programs
held during the Eurovision song contest in Baku.
