Opera "Nasimi" premiered at Heydar Aliyev Palace [PHOTOS]
The opera "Nasimi" has been premiere at Heydar Aliyev Palace, Azernews reports.
The masterpiece was staged by the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater with the support of the Azerbaijan Culture Ministry.
It reflects the profound philosophy, free spirit, and humanistic values of the genius Azerbaijani poet and thinker Imadeddin Nasimi, providing audiences with an opportunity to immerse themselves in his spiritual world.
The music for the opera was composed by the People's Artist and Professor Siavush Karimi, while the libretto was written by Academician Rafael Huseynov. The opera aims to convey Nasimi's legacy to future generations and the world.
In the premiere performance, the role of Imadeddin Nasimi was played by Honored Artist Ramil Gasimov.
The opera also featured People's Artists Teyyub Aslanov (Fazlullah Naimi), Nureddin Mehdi Khanli (the chronicler), and Honored Artists Ilkin Ahmadov (Abdulqadir Maraghi), Anton Fershtand (the Emir Timur's vizier), Jahangir Gurbanov (Melikshuar), soloists Fatima Jafarzade (Senem), Kamila Nabiyeva (Fatima), Sema Gamzayeva (Nasimi's mother), Mahir Taghizade (Emir Timur), Taleh Yahyaev (Zahid), Fakhrin Ahmadli (Emir Timur's lawyer), Hayal Guseynov (Dervish), Ruslan Persan (the first guard), Rza Khosrovzade (the second guard), Fuad Azizade (the guard of the dungeon), Elmira Rustamova (Ghazi), and others.
The musical director and conductor of the performance was Honored Artist Eyub Guliyev, the stage director was Honored Artist Inara Babaeva, the choreographer was Honored Artist Yuri Lobachev, the choirmaster was Honored Artist Sevil Gadjieva, the set designer was Honored Artist Ramil Gasimov, and the lighting designer was Rafael Hasanov.
In addition to the symphony orchestra and choir of the Academic Opera and Ballet Theater and the ballet troupe, the performance also featured the rhythm group "Natig" led by People's Artist Natig Shirinzade, People's Artist Elchin Gashimov (tar), Honored Artist Elnur Ahmadov (kamancha), and Amrah Orujov (oud).
Undoubtedly, the opera "Nasimi" will take its rightful place in the history of the national opera art of Azerbaijan.
